Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities may need extra or different help from that given to other children of the same age in an area where they are having difficulties. The children are supported both within the classroom and in small groups as necessary. Where formal assessment is necessary, the school will seek to support parents in this process. To find out more about what Clarkson Infant and Nursery School can offer, please see the links at the bottom of the page.

Special educational needs could mean that a child has difficulties with:

  •   All of the work in school
  •   Reading, writing or number work
  •   Expressing themselves or understanding what others are saying
  •   Making friends or relating to adults
  •   Behaving properly in school
  •   A physical difficulty such as sight, hearing or mobility.

If you have any concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to come and speak to us about them.
